This is a wild time to take IP Law. Although IP Law has been grabbing headlines for the last decade, the dawn of useable A.I. is challenging fundamental legal assumptions in a new way. This semester could even see some of these early court cases provide us with a substantive copyright law decision or two indicating possible future directions. Watching an area of law that had its basic assumptions set hundreds of years stressed by the weight of technological change is not necessarily a new narrative, but it remains a relevant one both to the practice of law and the cadence of our daily lives.
