A very Canadian passing off lawsuit

The Tragically Hip are suing Mill Street Brewing over Mill Street’s use of the “100th meridian.” In 2014, Mill Street used this name for one of their beers. One of the  Tragically Hip’s most popular songs is titled “At the Hundredth Meridian.”

It will be interesting to see if the Tragically Hip can prove that most Canadians connect “the 1ooth meridian” with the band. I wonder if this suit would have been more successful in the hay-day of their popularity. Personally, I had no idea that the hundredth meridian was a name of a Tragically Hip song. Would this be common in my generation and younger, or am I an anomaly that doesn’t listen to the Tragically hip?
